Biggest Announcements From Apple’s WWDC 2019
Apple made some big announcements on June 3rd, 2019 about some new changes & products coming up soon. The long-awaited ending of iTunes app into smaller music, podcast, and TV apps will finally be coming back to desktop. Let’s take at some of the products they are releasing
Apple’s new Mac OS
The new MAC OS will be called Catalina. This keeps in theme of Apple naming its OS after California landmarks. This new OS is supposed to make upgrading a lot easier for its users. This new OS is available today in the BETA version. It should be become available in falls. A few key features are as follows:
- Sidecar – Lets you use your iPad as another display for your MAC.
- Voice Control – you can now use voice control for accessibility
- Fine my iPhone & Find my Friends have now been combined with a new app called Find My
- Anti-Theft – just like the iPads & iPhone your Mac will be tied to you Apple ID. Which means if your Mac is stolen they won’t be able to steal, wipe or restore your Mac.
- Screen Time – this is the same feature on iOS. This app shows what apps you spend most time on.
In with the new and out with the old. iTunes for desktop will be broken up into separate apps. Very similar to iOS. While this is a bitter sweet end, it was time for the program to be put to rest.
New Cheese Grater / Mac Pro?
After a few years of promising, Apple has unveiled a new Mac Pro. While it looks like a cheese grater it does offer some promising hardware. With 1.5 Terabytes of storage and WHEELS. That’s right wheels, this bad boy is sure to be the best bang for your buck. It also has a 6k, 32-inch LCD display.
This machine will cost you a pretty penny and maybe your FIRST born. Starting at $5,999 and the stand alone costing an additional gut wrenching $999. That’s a lot of money for any type of computer.
iPad gets its own OS.
This new OS will have supercharged multitasking & multi-windows capability. Just like Android it will have split view and will work across spaces as well. This new OS shows that Apple acknowledging it must split the iPhone and iPad operating systems into different OS’s. This should be very exciting to watch and learn about as more information is available.
That was some of the big anncouments from the event. While Apple did release a few other things we at Rezz Tech just wanted to cover what we thought was important. What product / feature do you look forward to next? Make sure to let us know in the comments below.
