How To Improve Your Company’s Audience Engagement
In our last blog we discussed how to keep your viewers interested in your company’s website. Some of the same tips will apply to this blog “How To Improve Your Company’s Audience Engagement”, because let’s face it, the two topics go hand in hand. There are numerous ways to encourage your user to interact with your web page, forms, social media posts, and so on.
You don’t have to have a giant unicorn on your website to reel in your viewer, but you will want to make any engagement piece “fun and unique”. The most common way is to include a touch of color or a catchy hook to interest the viewer. If you were signing up for a raffle ticket, would you provide your information in a form that says “Contestant Information” or “Enter to Win!”? The most likely option would be the second one. Enter to win is not only more exciting,but also gives the user hope for a winning ticket.
As discussed last week, website speed and mobile optimization is crucial. A slow website that is not mobile compatible will almost never be successful. It’s a good idea to use multimedia if it’s relevant and easy to follow with your message as well. The use of pictures and video on your web page not only help with your SEO, but you can also get people to click on them and interact. You can make pictures clickable with links that guide the user to other pages on your web page or external locations that you want to promote. Headline titles are another powerful beast that a lot of businesses ignore the importance of. It’s the first thing you see on every page, which is why it is so imperative to plant a compelling headline in order to keep your reader engaged.
Call To Actions
The first thing that came to mind when I started this blog was to discuss the use of call to actions (CTAs). Although this is very important to implement when you are trying to expand your engagement, I don’t believe it’s more important than a 100 percent usable website. If you decide to use a CTA (which you should), you must make your intentions clear to the user. Whether it be to gather information, download your app, call/ email your business, or any other CTA form, your viewer needs to be able to complete the process easily and efficiently.
Drive Audience Engagement
When you want to drive audience engagement on social media it’s a good idea to release a poll to get users involved. Be sure to post consistently. It builds brand awareness and shows your company is active and always interacting with its clients/ customers. It’s commonly found that user interaction in the form of Q and A is another way to keep your audience engaged. This gives them the opportunity to ask the questions that they want to hear, which might not be the topic(s) your company is talking about that week.
At the end of the day, your company’s analytics will show everything. By measuring your session interval and session length, your company will have a good idea of how well it’s doing digitally. Obviously, any conversion such as a subscription, purchase, follow / like, or review can be tracked easily. If your company monitors the conversion rate for each platform it markets on, you will have the ability to see what’s working and what might need to be changed. Hopefully these tips will help repair or improve your company’s engagement numbers with your users.
