Is Your Small Business Utilizing “Google My Business”?
In June of 2014, Google launched an online interface called “Google My Business” in order to make it easier for the average small business to be found through the search engine. Since its release, Google My Business has played a major role in each company’s organic search ranking. Now, what does any of this mean for you and your brand? Chances are your company is investing a pretty penny in paid ad campaigns through Google and could be saving a buck by taking simple steps to help its organic presence. With a free five-minute setup and confirmation on Google My Business (https://www.google.com/business/), your small business could be on its way to more customers and website views.
What’s in Google My Business
The Google My Business section of a results page is an excellent way to give users an easy experience when finding your location or giving your business a call. It also gives the viewer access to your company’s hours as well as reviews right on the spot. No searching. No headache of navigating through a website. Google loves this because they want to remain the most user-friendly and efficient search engine on the net. With all this in mind, it’s no surprise that Google will reward your company for having a profile in place. Below is a screen capture of what’s known as the “knowledge panel” of the results page when searching specifically for Rezz Tech.
This panel can be managed by you or a company representative to quickly update holiday hours or make any edits necessary. As you can see this tool, not only benefits Google, but it helps your customer quickly access information without clicking into a website. Google will provide the viewer with very similar information from a Google My Business Page for mobile searches as well, but the knowledge panel will take up the screen with the first thing that you see.
