New Orleans Government hit with a Cyberattack. Since 11 A.M. local time city employees have been experiencing issues with their computers.
However, it is not clear if the cyberattack included ransomware. This means the computers are locked with encryption and can’t be used. Until they remove the ransomware and hope to decrypt the files. What was Infected?
“Out of an abundance of caution, all employees were immediately alerted to power down computers, unplug devices & disconnect from WiFi. All servers have been powered down as well,” a tweet from New Orleans’ Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness said. With the city’s website, nola.gov being down for a while. Ransomware in November
However, the state of Louisiana was already hit by ransomware back in November. It took about two weeks for the state to get its systems back online. It is unknown if these two attacks are related.
